Top 10 Tips For Rejuvenating Your Caravan
The days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer, and summer is just around the corner which must mean….it's caravanning season!
But, thanks to a long winter, many of the UK’s beloved caravans are in need of a bit of TLC. So here, we have put together 10top tips on how to spruce up your caravan to get it summer ready.
1. Replace the doors and windows
Replacing the doors and windows will not only make your caravan feel and look brand new but could also save energy - and keep you warmer in the colder months - increase safety and reduce outside noise.
2. Refurbish the kitchen
Replacing your caravan’s kitchen will change the interior completely - but if that is too costly, why not look at replacing the tiles and changing or painting the doors - this will make a huge difference for a fraction of the cost.
3. Get a new bathroom
A brand new bathroom will make your caravan feel modern and new, but just retiling or getting a new shower head will make a big difference.
4. Change the floor
Replacing the floors is a quick and relatively inexpensive way to make the entire caravan look fresh and new - why not consider different flooring for different areas for a more homely feel?
5. Update the roof
If you have an old and tatty roof, it not only looks unattractive, but it could be putting your caravan at risk, and may even invalidate your insurance. So, if you are thinking about making some improvements, the roof is a great place to start.
6. Maximise the outdoor space
From building a decking area to adding a few planters - if you have a static caravan, a few improvements to your outdoor space can go a long way.
7. Update the seating
Changing the fixed seating can make your caravan look brand new; re-covering it is the cheapest option, but you could replace it, or if you have a static caravan, you could even rip it out and have free-standing furniture instead for a completely new look.
8. Change the curtains
Curtains can quickly become old and tired looking. Replacing them with made to measure blinds will really modernise the look of your caravan and are much better at shutting out light and heat.
9. Recover the exteriors
The exterior of your caravan is out in the elements 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so will start to show signs of wear and tear. By re-cladding your caravan, not only will it be instantly modernised, but it will also help with insulation and weather proofing.
10. Get insured!
One of the most important things you can do for your caravan is to compare caravan insurance policies and get one in place - this will protect your caravan - and all your DIY efforts - giving you peace of mind that it is covered against theft, damage and third party liability.
